Film is not dead, this image of a mooring point off Cardiff Barrage is a 35mm photograph. Shot into the low winter sun composition delivers a strong silhouette set against a red sky .

As with the prior week top image, this weeks Photo comes from a trip to Aberavon . Heaped full of content, the foot prints in the sand , the contrast of sea, land and sky. In the far ground evidance of the steel works port all capped off with the Sun battling against storm clouds .
I find I see these images at the location but it is in the processing activity the image is given a voice for those who view it. I Love this one .

Normal activity interupted by holidays , a top image from the past two weeks . A photograph that appears in Leading Lines section . Very much an illustration of this principle in the context of dimishing lines , the sea, steps , path , wall and railings draw you into the far horizon .

A visit to Cardiff Bay Barrage served up this image of a sand dredger leaving port. So much more present itself in this photograph, a strong leading line of the Barrage road, the clouds pulling you front to back and the harsh contrast of the smooth road and harsh Barrage stones . After weeks of black and white street images, this week a Summer landscape taken in Lower Machen, feature a tree on the margins of a Barley field , the vivid green of the tree and blue of the sky constrast with the muted yellow of the crop.

I piece of Street photography last week , taken on a crisp bright January day in Penarth . Taken in portrait aspect to emphasis the vertical lines with visitors to the pier sitting in window seats facing the sun. All are looking into the prominade .
I like the constrast of the middle man dressed in dark compared the the light colours either side of him a well balanced image ideal example of the candid and spontanous nature of the genre .

Roath Park Lake image smash's all comers for top image also takes July Image of the Month
Just love the tones within this photo, the water plants in the foreground soften this edge, with the open water adding a crisp touch assisting the reflections from the midpoint of the image . All capped off by dramatic sky. Ticks all the box's off for what I like from my Photographs

Image taken at the Newport Wetlands on a raised walkway that cut through the Reed beds . Taken in portrait aspect wanted to deliver a cramp feel of the walkway with a strong leading line drawing you into the reeds flanking each side of the image . In processing I warmed the sky to compliment the colour of the reeds

Taken at a recent visit to Keepers pond Blaenavon , the hicking path takes you further up the mountain and affords amaazing views towards the Usk valley.
Features strong leading lines in the path that flanks the pond . Taken mid morning so I used a polarising filter to assist the colour representation of the sky

Black and white image of surface water and mud ,location was Penallta Parc upper aspect . The site is a reclaimed coal tip, so the mud in the image is 90% coal based not for walking in .
Taken in the Winter black and white respresentation gives off a cold feel. Surface water set up a leading line into the image.

I do find myself drawn to the visual impact of Wind Turbines , this sole examples taken at Pen - y - Fan Pond . Taken in portrait aspect I used the tree's to frame the subjected supported with the path as a leading line.
